  Certificate Program:Application Process

How to Apply

Application Form

You may apply for the Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program by printing and completing the Application for Admission, and submitting it via fax or mail with your remaining application documents.

Application Fee

The application form must be submitted with a nonrefundable fee of $35. Applicants may pay by check, money order or cash. Checks and money orders should be made payable to “Georgetown University.”

Essay

Applicants should submit a one-to-two page typed essay describing their experience and/or interest in the nonprofit sector and why they wish to pursue a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate.

Recommendation

Applicants should submit one letter of recommendation addressed to the Director, Dr. Kathy Kretman, from an individual who can comment on their work experience and their ability to successfully complete the certificate program. The applicant can either include the signed and sealed recommendation in the completed application package or have the individual mail or email the letter to the Director.

Resume

Applicants should submit a current resume, indicating at least three to five years of organizational experience, with the application.

Scholarship

Partial scholarships are available, but are reserved for students with the greatest need. If you are interested in a scholarship, you will need to submit, along with your application, a one to two paragraph letter, addressed to Dr. Kathy Kretman, detailing your need for financial assistance. This letter should be accompanied by a copy of your latest 1040 tax return statement.

English Language Proficiency

All applicants who are not native English speakers are required to demonstrate a level of proficiency in the English language sufficient to meet the admission requirement of the Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership. This program is not eligible for the F-1 Student Visa.
