Spotlight:New Grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund
The Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership has received a new three-year grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund to conduct an Emerging Leaders Program as well as an Executive Directors and Board Members Institute for its grantees. CPNL has been working with the duPont Fund for the past seven years running institutes for its grantees through an organizational team-learning model which has been nationally recognized for its success. This new grant gives CPNL an opportunity to create new curricula and learning models for two important audiences. First, given all of the recent literature about the upcoming leadership gap in the nonprofit sector, we are very interested in finding effective ways to prepare mid-level staff for leadership roles in their organizations. Through a three-day training, we will help them develop leadership and management skills they will need in their nonprofits as well as in the greater community. Secondly, we want to find innovative ways to strengthen the relationships among top-level organizational management through the Executive Directors and Board Members Institute. In this program we will help participants identify common opportunities and challenges and give them tools to take their organizations to the next level of success.
