We are now accepting applications for our Spring and Summer 2025 Programs.

Spring 2025 Virtual Program:

February 6-8, March 6-8, April 3-4

Application Deadline: December 6, 2024

Summer 2025 In-Person Program:

June 7-14 (8-day program)
Application deadline: April 25, 2025

Please note that we have a rolling application process and will accept applications throughout the year.

Who Should Apply?

The certificate program is designed for mid-to-senior level staff, board members, grant makers, and others who work with nonprofits as well as career transitioners. Each application is reviewed on its own merit. At a minimum, an applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree or have comparable work experience. All applicants should have at least five years of professional or management experience.

Application Form: The application form can be accessed via this link.

Application Fee: The nonrefundable application fee is $35. Applicants may pay by check, money order or cash. Checks and money orders should be made payable to “Georgetown University.”

Resume: Applicants should submit a current resume, indicating at least five years of work experience, with the application.

Essay: Applicants should submit a one-to-two page typed essay describing their experience and/or interest in the nonprofit sector and why they wish to pursue a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate.

Letter of Recommendation: Applicants should submit one letter of recommendation addressed to the Director, Dr. Kathy Kretman, from an individual who can comment on their work experience and their ability to successfully complete the certificate program. The applicant can either include the signed and sealed recommendation in the completed application package or have the individual mail or email the letter to npmcert@georgetown.edu.

Scholarship Request: A number of scholarships are available for individuals with financial need. Scholarship applicants will be considered for all of the relevant opportunities and do not need to specify a specific scholarship. When you apply for the Nonprofit Certificate Program, please indicate in the email that you are interested in a scholarship. You will then receive a few follow up questions to answer regarding your financial need.

Scholarship support is provided by: The Crimsonbridge Foundation, World Bank Group, Diverse City Fund, Micron Foundation, Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership, and alumni of the Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program.
