Who Should Apply?
The certificate program is designed for mid-to-senior level staff, board members, grant makers, and others who work with nonprofits as well as career transitioners. Each application is reviewed on its own merit. At a minimum, an applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and have several years of professional or management experience.

Application Form: The application form can be accessed via this link.
Application Fee: The nonrefundable application fee is $35. Applicants may pay by check, money order or cash. Checks and money orders should be made payable to “Georgetown University.”
Resume: Applicants should submit a current resume, indicating at least three to five years of work experience, with the application.
Essay: Applicants should submit a one-to-two page typed essay describing their experience and/or interest in the nonprofit sector and why they wish to pursue a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate.
Letter of Recommendation: Applicants should submit one letter of recommendation addressed to the Director, Dr. Kathy Kretman, from an individual who can comment on their work experience and their ability to successfully complete the certificate program. The applicant can either include the signed and sealed recommendation in the completed application package or have the individual mail or email the letter to the Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Scholarship Request: A number of scholarships are available for applicants with the greatest need. The Crimsonbridge Leadership Fund, Veterans Nonprofit Leadership Initiative, and additional partial scholarships are available for individuals with financial need. Scholarship applicants will be considered for all of the relevant opportunities. To apply for a scholarship, please submit a short letter explaining your financial need, a copy of your most recent 1040 tax return statement, and the annual budget of your organization. International applicants are welcome to apply and can submit proof of income in place of a 1040 tax return.
